The Department of Home Affairs is updating their ID cards and is introducing smart ID cards. To apply for smart ID cards, you have to visit the Home Affairs branch in person to provide your biometric.
You have to provide your facial recognition, fingerprints and photos there. That actually is the best step taken by the Department of Home Affairs to eradicate fraudulent or scamming activities. In order to apply for the smart ID cards, here are the steps that you have to take.
- You have to first visit the official website of the Department of Home Affairs.
- Then look for the option of “apply online for a South African smart ID card.”
